Onslow Square

The Brief:

Strip-out and refurbish a tired 3-bedroom apartment creating a calm and refined interior

The Location:

Third floor of a prestigious Chelsea garden square

The Client:

Bachelor in early 30s

GD&L Design:

The apartment had good proportions, but each room lacked a focal point despite the grand fireplace in the living room. The bathrooms and kitchen were outdated and not fit for purpose. We reconfigured the apartment to make the best use of the space and finished the bathrooms in soft warm stone and porcelain to bounce light around. Ensuring we maximised the space in the kitchen, we designed bespoke cabinetry and a banquette seating area, introducing stone worktops and a marble splashback to add grandeur. In the living room we added a mirror wall with intricate roundels between two new bookcases to increase the feeling of space. Silk wallpaper, wool carpets and soft furnishings in velvets and linens all combined to create a luxurious interior.
